Mary Peyovich, Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner

Mary has been practicing as a bodyworker for nearly 10 years. She holds advanced certifications in Myofascial Therapy and Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT), both of which feature a strong emphasis on structural analysis, an important assessment tool in ITM massage sessions.

As a long distance runner, Mary has a special affinity and passion for working with athletes and sports enthusiasts – endurance athletes in particular – possessing a first-hand understanding of common injuries and pain problems inherent with these sports activities.

In addition to massage therapy, Mary's background is also grounded in energy work. She has been practicing as a Reiki Master and Teacher since 2001 and often complements massage sessions with Reiki, a form of energy healing.

A graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy (CSMT), Mary is licensed in the state of Illinois and is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB). Mary also holds a B.A. in Music History and a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science.

She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

On a personal note…

"In part, it was my own experience with chronic pain that eventually led me to the path of massage therapy. In 2001, following a minor car accident which resulted in major pain, including a whiplash injury, I was given the opportunity to experience, firsthand, what it means to cope with a wide range of longer-term chronic pain symptoms. Through this challenge, I acquired new-found compassion, empathy and respect for those who are experiencing pain problems – whatever the cause – and to those who dedicate themselves to providing relief. For my own part, my gratitude goes out to the massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, chiropractors and others who shared their healing gifts to help me find my way back to 'normal.' And I am deeply honored to be allowed to play a part in the healing and wellness journeys of all my clients."
